About Erin

I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and a licensed school social worker and school administrator in the state of Massachusetts. I have spent my career working with children, adolescents, and adults in schools, hospitals, and outpatient settings.

Throughout my career I have developed expertise in supporting professional caregivers and parents, and I find such joy in helping these individuals figure out how to provide themselves with the same level of care that they are used to giving to others!

Over time my practice has evolved to focus on supporting women through the various stages of life from adolescence to late adulthood. I find this work to be exciting and meaningful. My professional memberships include The Menopause Society and the National Perinatal Association.

In other areas of my life, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, planning events, writing, and working as an educational leader.

Why is Collective Self-Care important?

As part of our lived experience, we regularly experience social and emotional injuries from our relationships with others and with ourselves. Experiences of oppression, injustice and other traumatic events also cause us hurt and pain. Often these injuries go unaddressed, building up over time, causing disturbances in our daily functioning, conflicts in our relationships, emotional distress, and sometimes physical pain or illness. They can also lead us to cause harm to others.

When we are feeling unwell or realize that things are not going well in our lives, we may find ourselves stuck and not know what to do. We may do things to avoid what we are experiencing or try things that are supposed to make us feel better, but don’t.

My services provide you with the opportunity to develop a better understanding of what you need and the support to determine the best way to meet that need. It allows you to think about why you need to engage in self-care, helping you to make an effective choice about what to do that will help to sustain your wellness over time.
